White Crayons

I was going to name this blog White Crayons (after a post from a good friend of mine, Doug Jumper) but some boob already used that for a blog and didn't ever bother to post anything to it. What an ass! By the way, if you agree or disagree with me, let me know! I'll be happy to explain to you why you're wrong and I'm right.

The Public Option

I frequently hear people saying things like "Smoking should be banned" or "I don't think people should be able to smoke because they waste all of their money on cigarettes and then I [we] have to pay for it with my [our] taxes when they get sick." Another one here in Virginia (because we have a 12% prepared food tax) is "Fast food should be taxed at 12% because all of the obese people who eat fast food all of the time cost me [us] money when they have a heart attack." If you are a smoker or someone who eats out frequently you might not agree with these statements, but if you sit back and think about it, these complaints do make sense. I mean, why not discourage people from doing things that cost YOU money? Within this realm lies a huge problem with The Public Option.

Once the general population starts paying for something, they (we) feel like they (we) have the right to demand that their (our) money be spent wisely. And that is not an unjust demand. As a quick American Government refresher, how do We The People make things happen??? Through our elected officials (government).

By putting forth tax dollars to fund health care for others, who, in general, don't take care of themselves (at least in Our opinion), we are giving the government new power to make decisions that effect Our personal lives... And they'll do it all in the name of protecting the American People's health care dollars.

So the next time you skip your morning jog, bite into a juicy steak, or drink a regular soda, remember that soon, Uncle Sam might be there to stop you from wasting tax dollars. Come on America, it's time to step up and take some personal responsibility... Sure it would be easier if we could just give all of our money to the government and let them provide everything for us, but is that really what you want? And if you answered yes to that question... There are plenty of other places to live. And I don't say that like "get the hell out of my country", I offer it as a solution to you. There are places that will accommodate you!

Disprioritizing

Ever not want to do Something so bad that you do lots of other things you don't want to do in order to avoid doing That One Thing even though you really need to do It? It's good in that you accomplish a lot of the things you have been meaning to do, but bad because That One Thing that really needs to get done gets put off over and over again... I think I'll make up a word for This. It shall be Homework.

Laconic Wit

Designated such by virtue of a privation of both qualities, yet a profusion of the same.
